Research... well sort of!

[gallery type="square" ids="2287,2288,2289"] Every year in late October, early November I take a week off work and painting to spend some time exploring and gathering images for future paintings.  This year we returned to Ambleside which is a favourite haunt and we were so very lucky with the weather. Lots of images captured to keep me painting for the next 12 months but the biggest bonus for was to be able to complete the Fairfield round.  This is a walk we attempted four years ago when we woke up to snowfall, blue skies and the temptation of tramping in crisp, fresh snow... that day we only got as far as Great Rigg before a snow storm meant we had to turn back. We've done it now and although the sun was a bit too bright for really good photos, I did get enough images to keep me going.  Downside though was my trusty walking boots bit the dust... so not happy about that! 2014-11-05 12.42.45
