Winter Moor I
This and its sister piece Winter Moor II was created when I first moved into the studio in the middle of winter and I was playing around with a limited palette. The cool blue/greys teamed up with a cool yellow really captured those stormy, snow filled clouds we were seeing over the moors at the time.
I've been a little bold with these two paintings and mounted them on a charcoal board to match the frame. A move away from the white boards I usually use as I wanted those muted colours to stand-out and boy it definitely does the job.
Each painting is created on Arches Huillle paper using oil paints and mixed media. The paintings have been mounted on archival board and framed in a dark grey wooden frame.
They look fabulous on their own or paired up together
