The interplay of light and rain created a dazzling effect on the wet surfaces, giving the roads the appearance of becoming rivers. And the wetlands shall rise again is an original oil, mixed media and gold leaf painting inspired by the North York Moors: up towards the Danby Beacon and looking down into Little Fry-up.
This painting can be seen as part of the Boundaries exhibition in the North York Moors from 6 September 2025. The North York Moors is a place of diverse landscapes of moorland vistas, the endless horizon of the North Sea, rugged coast, sweeping dales and picturesque villages.
This exhibition is an artist’s emotional response and interpretation of these diverse landscapes and changing climates, light, altitudes and terrains. From leafy lush grassland to the vast open spaces of the moors and unpredictable sea where solitude can be found and an artist’s journey can begin.
