Remember these? Well I have at last got a title for them which sums them up perfectly... The Gloaming... sounds a little like some corny horror movie but I think it sums these paintings up perfectly.
Although part of the same series this one below is a little conspicuous in that it is very much square shaped and not the letterbox size I have been going crazy for. I have gone from landscapes to squares, to skinny letterbox and back to squares this year...
It still has the same "gloaming" palette and the flashes of metallic powder which really do work well with these subtle green / blue / greys.
Can't wait to see these framed up and exhibited together although I think I may have a job on my hands deciding on how to hang them given the different shapes. Still that's all part of the fun planning your exhibition space!
The Gloaming series will be heading off to Art& York later this year.
Art& York will be running from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 October at York Racecourse Knavesmire Stand.
