and Burdall went to Skinningrove

Product Description
And Burdall Went to Skinningrove is a print taken from a large-scale original painting inspired by a photograph my good friend Ian Burdall captured many years ago.
Skinningrove, on the North East coast of England, is home to dramatic beaches, rugged cliffs and a wonderfully atmospheric, partially derelict pier. The original painting was a largely realistic interpretation of both Ian's photograph and the landscape itself, painted in oils on canvas.
From the outset, I knew that a standard landscape format wouldn't do the scene justice. When I realised I had seven uninterrupted days available in the studio, I decided it was time to tackle something on a much larger scale than usual. And large it certainly was—measuring an impressive 122 x 153 cm.
Working at this size allowed me to fully explore the textures, atmosphere and expansive sense of space that first drew me to Ian's photograph. The resulting painting became one of the most ambitious and rewarding pieces I had created at that point in my career, capturing a moment in the evolution of my practice before my work began to move towards the more atmospheric and expressive landscapes that many of you will recognise today.
As the original painting has long since sold, and my work has evolved quite significantly since then, these prints are the final remaining editions available. They therefore represent a last opportunity to acquire this particular image.
This limited edition print is signed and printed on textured fine art paper and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Prints are produced using museum quality, Fine Art Trade Guild approved equipment, inks and paper. The paper selected and the inks used are archival quality.
