All at Sea

May 13, 2019

All at sea is basically about how I was feeling when painting this image. I couldn't quite get my palette right, and I was putting things down on the paper which didn't make sense. I paint intuitively and it was if that intuition had gone away for the weekend!

In the end the painting started to form and I was able to take cues from the painting to pull it into this finished piece.

All at Sea is not about the sea but about turbulence.

Oil, pigments and cold wax on Arches Huile paper which is 100% rag (cotton), Neutral pH, acid free.

Painting is double mounted and backed on archival quality mount.  Frames are bespoke and are made by a local Yorkshire company, Artworks, who are also a member of the Fine Art Trade Guild.
