Daily Diary at Brisons Veor - Days 1 to 4

During my artist residency at Brisons Veor, Cornwall, in 2018 I published a daily visual blog on my facebook page www.facebook.com/PaulaDunnArtist. It was my way of keeping in touch with friends and family but I also had some really wonderful interactions with other artists and people living in and around Brisons Veor. The intention was to share progress with my paintings but also my adventures exploring the landscape and dealing with the ever changing weather. This is part 1 of a three part blog which publishes my daily blog.

Brisons Veor: A Cornish residency - Part 3

In 2018 I was lucky enough to be awarded an artist residency at Brisons Veor in Cornwall. Brisons Veor is a residential workspace set in an inspiring and unique location away from the day-to-day distractions of their home lives. This is part three of my blog documenting my stay in this beautiful location.

Art & York 2018

It was my first time applying for the Art& event and I was really pleased to have been selected for their York show in October 2018. It was quite a different type of art fair to ones I had done previously as you were provided with a blank shell unit which you then had to curate yourself.

All that glitters...

Gold is the colour of desire according to St Clair’s The Secret Lives of Colour.  Unlike my usual greetings cards this painting was deliberately created to end up being cards. I started out in October intending to create Christmas cards for friends and family. Life had a different idea though and time passed by and I missed that opportunity.
Art in the Pen, Skipton

Art in the Pen, Skipton

This was my second time at Art in the Pen in Skipton so I knew what I had in store in terms of set-up etc. This year I was further up the aisle and until I arrived wouldn't know what the lighting would be like in that area.

Art in the Pen is held in an auction market so isn't designed to be a gallery. Some areas of the big shed are particularly dark, whilst others are smellier!
